Aegean Sea Islands - Greek Diaspora Travel Articles

The Aegean Sea islands are Greek islands located in the Aegean Sea, between Greece and Turkey. These islands (with the exception of Crete and Euboea) are often split into the North Aegean islands, Sporades, Cyclades, Saronic islands, and Dodecanese. The Aegean islands are Greece’s most significant tourist destination, with the most popular being Santorini, Mykonos, Ios, Rhodes, Lesvos, Tinos, Naxos, Paros, Milos, Skiathos, Hydra, Delos, Samos, and Skopelos.

There is a saying “At the beginning of time, God set aside land for each country. The Greeks were last. Distraught to be left with scattered rocks in the ocean, as all else had been given away. But God looked upon them, smiled and said – fear not, for this land, I was saving for myself. I have welcomed you into my home.”

With over 6,000 breathtaking Greek islands, of which 227 are inhabited – there’s sure to be a getaway to satisfy your wanderlust. Travelling is always fun. Travelling with a purpose however, is priceless. In the articles below, you’ll learn the best way to add meaning to your next travel itinerary in the Aegean Sea islands.
