Paleokastritsa Beach Corfu is hands down the island’s most renowned, picturesque, and beautiful beach. Located on the Northern most Ionian island, the word Paleokastritsa translates to “old fortress”.

The Ioanian island of Corfu Greece

Corfu is one of my favourite Greek islands. With magnificent beaches (such as Paleokastritsa Beach) that you would expect from a Greek island, to lushes green landscapes unique to the Ionian islands, as well as rich Venetian architecture – Corfu has it all. As one of the few Greek lands to have successfully resisted the Ottoman Empire, Corfu became one of the most heavily fortified places in Europe! Today, you can visit both the Old Fortress and New Fortress in the island’s capital – Corfu Town. Another must see attraction, is the Achilleion Palace, which takes about 30mins on a bus from Corfu Town.

Paleokastritsa Beach Corfu vs Paleokastritsa Beaches

Paleokastritsa Beach Corfu is in fact a term that encompasses six beaches surrounding the town of Paleokastritsa. However, there is one predominant beach (also known as Agios Spyridon Beach Corfu) that is often referred to as Paleokastritsa Beach Corfu. Most bus routes will arrive at this beach. It also offers the most tourist attractions such as paddle boats, cafés, bars, and restaurants. Additionally, the Monastery of Paleokastritsa is a 15min walk (uphill) from the beach.
